Fiberglass Pool

Demolition Overview:
FULLERTON, CA — 2002
ROLLING HILLS AREA
GROUNDWATER NOT A CONCERN

Below are photos from a recent fiberglass pool demolition.
The process shown is typical of what might be expected
for a fiberglass pool.

Fiberglass pool Demo As always, a free written estimate is prepared which covers every aspect of the demolition. The estimate for the demolition seen here included; pumping of water from the pool, removal of a 100 square foot drain hole at the bottom of the pool, removal of the top 24 inches of the pool, capping of utilities at the house, demolition of 300 square foot concrete deck, removal of all existing pool equipment, backfill of pool with at least 90% compaction. This estimate also included permits, compaction tests, and the final compaction report.
Fiberglass pool Demo The four day removal process for this pool began with pumping of water from the pool and removal of the pool lining. In this case, the pool was a fiberglass pool and the owner requested full removal of the lining. All pipes, drains, lighting equipment, and electrical outlets were removed as well.
Fiberglass pool Demo At this stage, the pool lining has been removed and the pool is about ready for preliminary inspection by the city.
Fiberglass pool Demo Once the pool has been inspected, the process of breaking up the decking can begin. Decking material is broken into small pieces and placed into the deep end of the pool.
Fiberglass pool Demo Broken decking material can bee seen here near the shallow end of the pool. Once the deck is removed, pipes and other fixtures that ring the pool can be removed.
Fiberglass pool Demo Backfill of the pool begins with the arrival of the backfill material. The top 24 inches of backfill will consist of clean soil.
Fiberglass pool Demo Our Bobcats can fit into even the tightest spots. Minimum access is not a problem. Here our Bobcat is loading topsoil to finish off the backfill process.
Fiberglass pool Demo The final product! What was once a “money pit safety hazard” for the owner will soon become a spacious new yard!
Fiberglass pool Demo This is the same yard 9 years later! Notice the nice large lawn area. Also, notice that there was no sinkage or odd growth pattern where the pool was located. The ground is as level as the day the pool was removed!
